NURSING STUDENTS PARTICIPATE IN HEALTH SCREENINGS

Mid-Del Technology Center Practical Nursing students recently partnered with the City of Midwest City and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Oklahoma to host a health screening event for members of the Mid-Del community.

MDTC nursing students screened .........

patrons on blood pressure, blood sugar, glaucoma, cholesterol, basic lung functioning and bone density test.  According to Vanessa Keith, marketing representative with Blue Cross Blue Shield, “approximately 100 people had participated in the free screenings.”   Janice Stanfield, MDTC nursing instructor stated “this is a great opportunity for our students to give back to the community.  We plan through our student organization HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America) to do more civic and community activities.”
