Health Careers Certification is focused on providing the academics and skills needed to find employment in a medical facility, nursing home, or home health agency as either a Long Term Certified Nurse’s Aide (LTCNA), Home Health Aide (HHA), or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA). Exploring this pathway, students work towards obtaining their Blood Borne Pathogen (BBP) and CPR/First Aid certifications, as well as LTCNA, HHA, RMA licensures. Participation at clinical sites is a requirement for licensure. Topics covered include health careers core, medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, medical assisting in the office, and theory/clinical experience in long term care, home health care, and medical assisting.
