MidDel Tech Center Networking Student

Cyber Security prepares students to plan, coordinate and implement security measures for networking systems.  Students first learn the basics of repair and maintenance of computer hardware, software, and operating systems along with the installation, configuration and troubleshooting of network hardware. They also learn the basics of networking, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of hardware peripherals and protocols, as well as network administration duties and providing support for network users.  Students obtain skills in protecting the integrity of networks, programs, and data from attack, damage or unauthorized access. This major prepares students to provide technical assistance to computer users in various work environments.  They gain an understanding of the principles of risk management, security architectures, incident handling, disaster recovery, and secure systems administration. Students gain the technical skills required for CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+.


Cyber Security Professional – 900 hours

Optional – 15 hours of college credit through Rose State University
