This program is an introduction to aircraft structural maintenance fundamentals. You will be introduced to aircraft characteristics as well as aerodynamics and will learn the different technical repair data used in industry and government Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) facilities. You will learn to use hand tools, powered tools, powered and non-powered manufacturing equipment used in aviation structural maintenance and will cover basic shop math, aircraft corrosion identification, control, and prevention. You will gain familiarization with conventional and special fasteners, metal layout and forming techniques, basic structural repairs paired with specific technical guidelines and will gain an understanding of general shop safety policies and practices, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and will make a habit of safety management in the process.

Students must take an English Proficiency exam and Hands-on Skills Exam.

Hours: 200 hours | 50 class sessions The testing application window for this class will start July 15th and end August 16th. Process for Admittance – NEW Process First step: After August 19th, the exams will be ranked in order by scores. The top scores will move forward in the enrollment process. Those not ranked high enough to move forward may apply again (and retest) for the next session. *Each person will be contacted (by email) letting them know if they are moving forward or not.
