Highways and bridges are a crucial part of our nation’s infrastructure, allowing for efficient transportation of people and goods to locations both near and far. The construction of highways and bridges, known as “Heavy Highway Construction” is an exciting and complex field. Heavy Highway Construction professionals build the infrastructure; work on roads, bridges and ports, otherwise called non-building construction. In this course, you will develop the skills needed to begin your journey of that of a trained heavy highway construction worker. You will learn the needed basic math skills, gain knowledge of heavy equipment operations, safety, earthmoving, hand tools and traffic regulations and become OSHA 10 certified. Guaranteed interview if student meets the course requirements successfully. Course completers will receive a certificate and if hired, a 20% increase in starting salary over the national industry starting wage equaling $42,000.
