Mashup

Mashup Conditioning group fitness classes use Variable-Intensity Interval Training (VIIT) to combine Mind/Body (Yoga/Pilates), Agility & Strength, and High-Intensity Intervals for 3 different fitness levels in every 45-minute workout. VIIT delivers a safe effective way to exercise which stresses the body in a variety of ways while also allowing for adequate recovery so that it is consistently getting stronger. Mashup incorporates hundreds of exercises, so the body is constantly adapting and improving. To get the most out of Mashup it is recommended to take the class twice each week. Students will need dumbbells and a yoga mat for the class.

These monthly sessions will focus on methods and strategies to make your search more productive. Reading Essentials

The primary goal of the multi-sensory Reading Essentials program is to teach reading skills and strategies to facilitate the transition from a therapeutic classroom setting to real world learning. Multi-sensory Reading Essentials is for individuals who struggle in reading, in areas such as word recognition, reading fluency, and reading comprehension. The program is a systematic, sequential design including structured daily lessons following a progression of increasing complexity based upon previous and cumulative learning.

Small engine repair is a hands-on class. We will concentrate on learning to tune up small engines on chainsaws, lawnmowers, blowers, and weed eaters. We will also cover troubleshooting problems with gas-powered small engines.

Handygirl/guy 101: Automobiles

  • Cost: $25

In this informative short class, the instructor will take you through several inspection points of an automobile. You will also learn basic safety for emergency and maintenance procedures. You will gain basic insight into the importance of regular and consistent automobile maintenance and how it will improve performance and prolong the life of your vehicle. There will be hands-on shop time.

Handygirl/guy: Home Maintenance

  • Cost: $25

In this short class, you will learn several basic inspection points for your home. Safety and emergency considerations will be addressed. Also, learn some tips for DIY projects, such as drywall patching and décor hanging. There will be hands-on shop time.

Acrylic Painting

This introductory course will provide students with the necessary skills to create paintings by using knowledge of pictorial composition and knowledge of materials, tools, and techniques used in acrylic painting. Though this is an introductory course, even an intermediate painter could find this course useful and enjoyable. Students are responsible for purchasing materials for this course.

Yoga

This is your chance to discover increased flexibility, vitality, peacefulness and a sense of well-being. You will learn the basics of sun salutations, foundation yoga postures and shapes, and the importance of connecting with the breath. Although this class is geared towards beginners with little or no prior yoga experience, those with some experience can benefit from revisiting essential alignment, flow, and breath-work principles.

Introduction to Computers for Senior Citizens

Must be 62+ to be eligible for the course. You will be introduced to basic computer skills to help you get the most from your computer. Students will be allowed to take one course free.

Social Media

Take the first step into the digital age–learn the basics of email. Students will create a free G-mail account, send and receive email, learn to attach a file, download an attachment that has been received, and utilize an address book.
