Mid-Del Tech Serves as Host Site for State Board of Career and Technology Education

Mid-Del Tech had the privilege of hosting the Oklahoma State Board of Career and Technology Education for their November meeting — an incredible milestone for our campus. We were joined by distinguished leaders including Mr. Lindel Fields, State Superintendent of Public Instruction and Board Chair, and Mr. Brent Haken, State Director of Career and Technology Education.

Becki Foster welcomed the Board and introduced our student presenters — Joscelyn Laughlin (Cybersecurity), Madi Griffin (Automotive), Ivie O'Quinn (Welding), Zion Rodriguez (Plumbing), and Mason Bristow (Aviation) — who represented Mid-Del Tech with confidence and professionalism as they shared their experiences, goals, and the impact CareerTech has had on their future. They were outstanding, and we couldn’t be more proud.

Hosting this meeting gave us an opportunity to showcase the culture, programs, and students that make Mid-Del Tech such a powerful place for developing talent and creating opportunity. Thank you to the State Board for spending the morning with us!

Please join us in congratulating Brittany, our May Student of the Month! From day one, Brittany has set the standard in our automotive class. Her work is consistently top-notch, and her positive attitude never goes unnoticed. She takes initiative, actively seeks out tasks, and embraces challenges with enthusiasm. During competition season, Brittany stepped up in a big way, filling a last-minute spot in the Business Chapter Meeting competition without any prior experience with the topic or team. Her adaptability and team spirit were truly impressive. Brittany has proven herself to be not only an exceptional student but also a future leader in the automotive field. We're proud of everything she’s accomplished this year and can’t wait to see what she does next!

This year's lawn ornament competition was a tough one with some really spectacular entries, but only one can win. Congratulations Welding! The fireplace they built won the top prize, which includes a pizza party after the break!
